What to expect on the weekend.

This weekend is a special breakaway for Fathers and their sons.  It doesn’t matter how old or young your son is, this weekend is for you.
We are going to rough it for the weekend and soak up nature.  It is the perfect weekend away on a lovely farm near Addo in the Zuurberg, and an opportunity to strengthen your relationships.

WHAT TO BRING ON THE WEEKEND:

CAMPING GEAR:
  • Tent, mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets
  • Camping Chair
  • Own Cutlery, Coffee mug, container for your braai meat
  • Water bottle (for walking)
  • Backpack to walk with
  • Torch or battery operated lantern
  • Binoculars if you have
PERSONEL GEAR:
  • Toiletries, towel and toilet roll.
  • Warm comfortable clothing, (remember jacket, beanie etc.)
  • Comfortable walking shoes (For walking in the field)
  • Own Bible or downloaded app. (Very weak reception)
  • Notebook and pen
  • Your Camera if you like
  • Your own medication
  • Medical card  - In case of emergency
FOOD:
  • Braai pack for Saturday night. (Fire and salads will be provided)
  • Snacks and cooldrink for the weekend
  • One tin of food each.
  • One box of rusks or Wheat bix per family.
  • Own drinking water (5 liter each)

camp rules:

  • Please respect the property and leave it in the same, or in better condition, found on arrival.  
  • Please don’t smoke near the minors.
  • No illegal substances.
  • No firearms.
  • Be friendly and enjoy the camp together.

transport:

Every dad/guardian is responsible for their own transport to and from the camp terrain.
We will create a WhatsApp group. On the group we will send the PIN location.
We do not recommend driving through Motherwell on the way to Addo, but instead through Paterson.
Please allow for at least 90 minutes of driving time.
From PE it is about 100km and around 20km of it is dirt road.
We suggest that you drive with a high clearance vehicle, like as a bakkie or a SUV.
If the road is wet, it will be slippery. We recommended to leave on time to avoid driving in the dark.

We would like to start at 6pm Friday night. Please let us know if you cannot make it on time.
Camp ends 2pm on Sunday.
